Ben Affleck’s run of good luck is showing little sign of slowing down. After a career-best performance in Gone Girl and the public blessing of his Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice producers, he’s in a cherished spot at the moment. His stream of movie successes could be part of the reason why the actor-director is now turning his efforts to the small screen. Under their newly-formed Pearl Street Films banner, Affleck and life-long buddy Matt Damon are now developing sci-fi thriller Incorporated for Syfy.

Pearl Street will join forces with CBS Television to produce the show for Syfy, which is described as “a futuristic espionage thriller set in a world where corporations have seemingly unlimited power. The drama will be the story of one man’s efforts to beat the system.”

To be honest, it doesn’t sound like the synopsis even requires the word “futuristic,” as that’s a rather an accurate description of the world we live in now. Either way, the notion of a sci-fi thriller from the creative team behind Good Will Hunting sounds cracking to us. However, the two actors won’t be scripting the series. They will instead take a step back, with each taking on the role of executive producer. Whether or not either of the Oscar-winners will be taking speaking parts in front of the camera also remains to be seen.

Elsewhere on the crew roster, we’ve got brothers David and Alex Pastor (Last Days, Selfless) writing the episodes, for what will be Pearl Street’s first scripted cable show. The Good Wife‘s Ted Humphrey will be tackling showrunner duties.
