When you think of Netflix original programming, a few series come to mind: the incredibly popular House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Arrested Development, as well as shows like Lilyhammer, Hemlock Grove and Derek. Now, the streaming service is adding another series to their resume with Bojack Horseman

Bojack Horseman is a 12-episode adult-oriented comedy, and Netflix’s first foray into animation. Will Arnett stars as Bojack, a “whiskey-drinking humanoid horse,” who is the former star of a legendary 1990s family-favorite sitcom called Horsin’ Around. Bojack “deals with his personal crises with human sidekick Todd (Aaron Paul), feline agent and ex-love Princess Caroline (Amy Sedaris),” and his current human ex-girlfriend (Alison Brie).

The series was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg (The Exquisite Corpse Project) and is executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen, Noel Bright, Will Arnett and Aaron Paul.

A new, NSFW teaser for the series has made its way online today, showcasing its Adult Swim-esque humor and animation style. While it isn’t the kind of show that we’d typically expect to see from Netflix, it does have the potential to be a hilarious animated series, especially with such a talented voice cast.

Check out the trailer and official synopsis below:

Meet the most beloved sitcom horse of the ’90s … 20 years later. BoJack Horseman was the star of the hit TV show “Horsin’ Around,” but today he’s washed up, living in Hollywood, complaining about everything, and sometimes wearing colorful sweaters. Starring Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, and Aaron Paul. BoJack Horseman, A Netflix original series, launches on August 22 in all Netflix territories.
