Check Out The First Images From Orange Is The New Black Season Two

The first season of Netflix's Orange Is The New Black was one of the best and most attention-grabbing debuts for any show in 2013, and to say I'm looking forward to reincarceration at Litchfield Penitentiary when the prison dramedy returns for its sophomore run in June would be a bit of an understatement.

The first season of Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black was one of the best and most attention-grabbing debuts for any show in 2013, and to say I’m looking forward to reincarceration at Litchfield Penitentiary when the prison dramedy returns for its sophomore run in June would be a bit of an understatement.

Everything I’ve heard about the second season so far is very exciting. For one, the show is stepping back from protagonist Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) in order to more completely examine the stories and lives of other inmates. Seeing as Piper’s strained relationship with fiance Larry (Jason Biggs) was undoubtedly the weakest plot point in the first season, that sounds like a good move. I’m also excited that Orange Is The New Black is still introducing new characters, most notably a dangerous inmate named Vee (Lorraine Toussaint).

Now, we’ve got three official images from the second season to savor. There’s not much by way of spoilers here, but we do get a look at the aftermath of Piper’s brawl with religious fanatic Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning), a stare-down between kitchen queen Red (Kate Mulgrew) and Vee, and a shot of multiple characters participating in a hilarious-looking Mock Job Fair.

Orange Is The New Black‘s second season will likely feature just as many terrific acting moments, laugh-out-loud storylines and innovative twists as its first, and the cliffhanger ending that fans were left on last July will definitely make the first episodes of the season interesting. With showrunner Jenji Kohan’s apparent interest in distancing the show from Piper, there’s no telling where the character will end up.

You can check out those images below, though fans will have to wait to find out what’s in store for the inmates and guards of Litchfield until June 6, when Netflix will drop all 13 episodes of Orange Is The New Black‘s second season.
