What a year it’s been for Marvel’s roster of Netflix heroes.
First came the second season of Jessica Jones, before Mike Colter’s Hero for Hire returned to protect Harlem from new threats (see: the Bushmaster). Now, Iron Fist season 2 (our review) is out in the wild, and though it hasn’t been confirmed just yet, it seems as if 2018 may well herald the launch of Daredevil season 3, as well.
Marvel and Netflix’s premier superhero series has been completely absent since as far back as March of 2016, so it’s safe to say that Matt Murdock’s return is long overdue. And thankfully, it sounds like he’ll be back on our screens sooner rather than later, as according to a Tweet from the Netflix Thailand account, October 19th has been the date marked by the streaming service for season 3’s premiere.
Granted, Marvel have yet to confirm this and it could just be a mistake on the part of whoever runs that account, but we should note that the review embargo’s up on October 12th, so this would certainly make sense. It also isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a late 2018 premiere for Daredevil season 3, so we’re inclined to believe it.
In terms of what we can expect to see, well, Matt Murdock is still every bit as downcast and despondent as he was before, and the fact that Marvel plans to adapt Frank Miller’s classic “Born Again” comic indicates to us that, for the Man Without Fear, things are only going to get worse before they get better.
“I’d rather die as the devil, than live as Matt Murdock.” Season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil looks set to hit Netflix before the year’s end, and if this new tweet is to be believed, it’ll be here as soon as next month. As always, watch this space for more.
