Three new promo images for the upcoming eleventh season of Doctor Who have been floating around online in some form for the past few days but now they’ve been officially released. Seen below, the pics feature the refreshed TARDIS team consisting of Mandip Gill’s Yaz, Tosin Cole’s Ryan, Bradley Walsh’s Graham and, last but not least, Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor.

As much as they can without giving away any spoilers, the three photos do a good job of teasing how the new run will see the Doctor and her friends caught up in a variety of adventures in different landscapes. For instance, one image sees the Time Lord attempting to diffuse some sci-fi bomb-like device while her pals look on. Going by the strange golden glow, we’re expecting a crossover with Pulp Fiction.

Another photo, meanwhile, teases a more somber mood as the time travelers appear to be in a woodland area on an overcast day. They’re also captured looking at something or someone off-camera, which just adds to the ominous feel of the photo. The environment suggests this might be taken from an episode set in the past.

Finally, the last image doesn’t feature the Doctor herself but instead stars her three companions, who are possibly hiding from something which we can’t see. Going by the arid surroundings, we’re pretty sure this scene was not shot in Doctor Who’s home of Cardiff, Wales and actually, fans are theorizing that this snap could be from the rumored filming in South Africa.

Of course, these photos arrive on the eve of the big Doctor Who panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con tomorrow, where it’s expected the BBC will debut the first full trailer for season 11, following on from the teaser that arrived last Sunday. As always, watch this space for more.
