Emily Inspires The Team In These New Powerless Photos

Last night, or tonight (depending on where you are while reading this), NBC premiered its new DC Comics show Powerless. The response was, well, underwhelming, with most people citing the main problem as a lack of laughs - which is obviously an issue for a workplace sitcom. It's important not to rush to judgement though, and for now, there's enough potential here that it's worth tuning in next week to see where the series goes.

Last night, or tonight (depending on where you are while reading this), NBC premiered its new DC Comics show Powerless. The response was, well, underwhelming, with most people citing the main problem as a lack of laughs – which is obviously an issue for a workplace sitcom. It’s important not to rush to judgement though, and for now, there’s enough potential here that it’s worth tuning in next week to see where the series goes.

Giving us some indication of exactly that is a newly released batch of photos for episode two – titled “Wayne Dream Team” – which you can check out above, along with a plot summary that teases what Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) will be getting up to next week.

With a new product idea greenlit, Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) tries to get her team inspired but can’t seem to break through their obsession with Fantasy Super Hero League. Meanwhile, Van (Alan Tudyk) is on a mission to be included in the Wayne Dream Team photo. Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk and Ron Funches also star. Jennie Pierson recurs.

As we said above, we haven’t written off the show just yet. Despite a rather lacklustre first episode, Powerless displayed some promise last night. A couple of the jokes landed perfectly and the various nods and references to DC characters were certainly fun to pick up on. It’s far from must-watch television, at this stage at least, but we’ll definitely be returning for “Wayne Dream Team” to see how the show progresses from here.

Powerless airs Thursday nights on NBC at 8:30/7:30c. Tell us, after taking a look at the photos and plot synopsis above for next week’s outing, will you be tuning in again, or was the pilot enough for you? Sound off in the usual place and let us know!
