Sure, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are each bracing for Earth-shaking new installments – the latter will even spell the return of a familiar face – but season 8 of American Horror Story is different in that it’ll herald the long-anticipated “Coven/Murder House” crossover. And it’s even bringing back one or two unfriendly faces for the ride.

Chief among them is Emma Roberts, whose Madison Montgomery proved to be one of the more memorable figures from “Coven.” The actress confirmed her return via Instagram (h/t Deadline), where she said: “Surprise, bitch! Bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”

Of course, Billie Lourd is also a lock for season 8.

And Sarah Paulson? She’s quietly confident that the script for the next run is among the show’s best:

Witches rule this September: season 8 of American Horror Story is expected to begin filming imminently ahead of a premiere in the fall. And we’ll be bringing you all the latest as this creepy new installment takes shape.
