The CW has released an extended promo for next week’s all new episode of iZombie, “Max Wager.” This episode sees Liv inherit the traits of a degenerate gambler as she investigates his murder. You may recall that executive producer Rob Thomas recently teased that little detail, and now we’ll finally see it become reality.

During the course of their investigation, Liv and Babineaux will encounter an NBA Hall of Famer at said gambler’s funeral, which will apparently lead to Babineaux not being able to contain his fandom. Viewers recently learned how much of a fan of the sport he is in “Love & Basketball,” which was a particularly strong episode for his character.

Those wondering if the zombie virus can be transferred via the act of romantic congress may get their answer next week. The promo features snippets of Liv and Major in an intimate moment, but we must not get ahead of ourselves, because it’s not unheard of for trailers to tease something and then go in another direction. It is said that Major “continues to struggle,” so we can only hope that he doesn’t fall too hard after making significant strides to recovery in the previous episode.

For more details, check out the official plot synopsis below:

Liv (Rose McIver) unwittingly crosses paths with the most dangerous man in Seattle while investigating the murder of degenerate gambler Harry (guest star Ray Galletti). Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) has a super-fan moment when he and Liv question NBA Hall of Famer Calvin Owens (guest star Rick Fox) at Harry’s funeral. Meanwhile, Blaine’s (David Anders) father (guest star Robert Knepper “Prison Break”) makes a huge discovery, and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) delivers some bad news. Major (Robert Buckley) continues to struggle.

iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9:00 pm EST on The CW.
