In last night’s episode of The Flash, we learned just how much of an impact Barry Allen’s trip back in time has had on the lives of his family and friends. Caitlin Snow has developed Killer Frost’s powers, Cisco’s brother was killed by a drunk driver, and over in Arrow, Diggle’s baby daughter Sara is now his little boy John Diggle Jr. (who became Green Arrow in Legends of Tomorrow).
A new villain has also made his presence felt in Central City in the form of Dr. Alchemy, so it’s lucky for Barry that Earth-2’s Harrison Wells will return alongside his daughter Jesse in next week’s instalment. The fact that the latter is now a speedster will come as a big help, but the Fastest Man Alive is first going to have to deal with the powerful Magenta.
For more details on what to expect from this episode of The Flash – which is also titled “Magenta” – here’s the official synopsis:
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth-2 Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Jesse (guest star Violett Beane). Wells confides to Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) that Jesse has all the powers of a speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta, (guest star Joey King) a new meta who can control metal, terrorizes the city. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & David Kob.
While Magenta will likely be a one and done villain, seeing the Wells family return here promises to be a lot of fun, especially as we know that The Flash is going to take Jesse Quick under his wing. Whether more Flashpoint changes will be revealed remains to be seen, but those involved with The Flash have previously teased Tom Cavanagh playing a slightly different version of Wells…
