Possibly the most intriguing thing we see in the video above is a gigantic green robot of some sort which appears to have been dispatched by Savage to take down the Legends of Tomorrow. Some fans are already speculating that this could be Chemo, a bad guy composed of an unknown combination of experimental chemicals who possesses a unique form of psuedo-life that gives him a primitive, evil intelligence. There’s a resemblance there for sure, but it’s hard to say whether these two are one and the same.

The official synopsis doesn’t shed any light on his identity either, but the title – “Leviathan” – definitely makes a little more sense now:

Rip (Arthur Darvill) takes the team to London in the year 2166, three months before his family is killed. He believes this to be their final opportunity to take out Savage (Casper Crump) who is, unfortunately, at the height of his power. However, the team discovers two key elements to defeating him – Savage’s daughter (guest star Jessica Sipos) and the means to kill Savage once and for all. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Sarah Nicole Jones & Ray Utarnachitt.

Legends of Tomorrow has been great fun so far, and with a second season already confirmed, it will be interesting to see how the team and lead villain change when the show returns. For now though, the focus remains on Savage, and it’s clear that this ragtag group will need to do an awful lot in order to stop him from taking over the world.
