We are, at the time of writing, fast approaching the mid-way point of Westworld‘s inaugural season, and it’s fair to say that HBO’s sci-fi Western has viewers hooked.

Much of that can be attributed to the cerebral, multi-faceted story dreamed up by series co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, but one can’t overlook HBO’s marketing campaign, which has managed to keep viewers on tenterhooks week in, week out with the one-two punch of an enticing promo, followed by a series of action shots.

And so, after already unveiling the first footage from “Contrapasso,” the network has now rolled out the first images for Westworld‘s fifth episode. Teeing up a new adventure for Dolores, William and Logan, there’s also more than meets the eye when it comes to that evocative title.

If you’ve already caught Ron Howard’s Inferno, you may know that Contrapasso stands as one of the few rules in Dante’s Inferno. Think of it as a law of nature for the underworld, stating that for every sinner’s crime, an equal and fitting punishment must be called.

How exactly that filters into the arc of Westworld episode five is up for question, but while we wait, the official synopsis is here for you to peruse: “Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), William (Jimmi Simpson) and Logan (Ben Barnes) reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression – and are recruited for a dangerous mission. The Man in Black (Ed Harris) meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.”

“Contrapasso” will premiere via HBO on Sunday, October 30. Tell us, are you excited for the latest episode of Westworld? Sound off below with your thoughts!
