The Flash Casts Max Adler As Possible Villain

By now, you've probably noticed that the Arrowverse isn't just populated by veterans of musical theater, but also those who've actually starred on the series Glee itself. In fact, as you may remember, last season saw The Flash and Supergirl engage in a musical crossover that I've done my best to forget.

Having said that, it’s time for yet another actor to join the reunion club that already includes the likes of Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Jeremy Jordan and Darren Criss, that being Max Adler. According to Flash TV News, he’ll be playing Jaco Birch, who’s described as “’an obsessive music fanatic who worships at the altar of classic heavy metal.’ Birch is a roadie for all the contemporary metal bands you’ve never heard of… and there’s one other thing: he loves to set things on fire.”

Right now, not much more than that is known, but one can assume that an element of musical theater might rear its head in whatever episode that Adler guest stars in. Let’s just hope that if he does indeed pay tribute to the Metal Gods, it is indeed what the rest of us would term “heavy metal,” and retains the spirit of the genre. Personally, I have a lean toward the more extreme stuff, but you may agree with me in saying that any form of metal completely loses its edge whenever you Glee-ify it, if you will. Either way, I doubt he’ll be rocking out to Slayer’s “Raining Blood.”

That aside, it’s also hard not to notice the rise in pyromania in Central City. So far, we’ve had Heat Wave and Heat Monger, making us think there’ll soon be enough of these folks to rival speedsters in that town, as it’s not like we have enough of those already.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
