You may remember that casting call for Game Of Thrones season 6 from a while ago and the description of an unnamed character, said to be a “young boy with brown hair, green eyes, a narrow face,” that was widely believed to be the late Ned Stark (Sean Bean) as a child. Though this was just a rumor at the time, Watchers On The Wall now reckon they’ve not only confirmed it to be true, but that 13-year-old British actor Sebastian Croft has been cast in the role.
Croft may not be a very big name, but he does arrive to the show with a solid amount of experience, having appeared in the likes of London West End productions of Matilda, Les Miserables and the musical version of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾.Â
If this report is accurate, it will mark only the second use of flashbacks in the entire run of the HBO series, after last season featured a young Cersei Lannister paying a visit to Maggy the Frog. The season 6 Ned Stark scene is also rumored to include younger versions of Robert Baratheon, and Ned’s older brother Brandon, but those roles have not been cast yet.
Game Of Thrones returns with another sure-to-be controversial 10 episodes sometime next year.
