Gotham Image Provides First Look At Paul Reubens As The Penguin's Father

Executive producer Danny cannon has posted a stylish new production still from the set of Gotham, which is currently shooting in preparation for its return at the end of January. The pic gives us our first look at Paul Reubens, better known as Pee-Wee Herman, in costume as Oswald Cobblepot’s still unnamed father alongside his screen-son, played by Robin Lord Taylor.

It was revealed back in October of last year that the actor/comedian would once again play this role after appearing as a different incarnation of the very same character in the opening scenes of Tim Burton’s Batman Returns.

In the movie, Penguin never knew his folks, as they threw him into a river after witnessing his evil tendencies. On the show, however, Oswald had a much better relationship with his now dearly departed mother (Carol Kane), so it will be interesting to see how her widower is introduced and what sort of dynamic he has with his now unpredictably psychotic son.

Gotham returns with an all-new episode on January 29.
