Grant Gustin Shares First Official Look At The Flash’s New Costume

After leaking out a few days ago, Grant Gustin has now taken to Instagram to share with us the first official photo of The Flash's new costume for season 5.

By now, you’ve probably noticed that the major heroes populating the Arrowverse are given new costumes every so often. Though Oliver Queen’s suit may have gone through subtle variations throughout the first three seasons of his own series, it wasn’t until the fourth run that the Green Arrow received a considerable upgrade. At that point, he lengthened the sleeves on that bad boy for the following year and beyond.

Likewise, Barry Allen has endured some aesthetic changes over on The Flash. Similar to Ollie, it wasn’t until his fourth season that a major alteration was made to his attire – barring a color swap on the logo, of course – but now it seems as if the hero’s due for yet another upgrade. Yes, as you’ve surely heard by now, Barry will be donning a new suit in season 5 and today, we have our first official look at it.

After leaking onto the web earlier this week – which Grant Gustin was not happy about – the actor’s now taken it upon himself to share with us an official shot of the costume. Seen in the gallery down below, it certainly looks a lot better than it did in that leak and it’s safe to say that most fans will probably dig this more streamlined, comic-accurate version of the suit. Though we’d really love to see it in action, too.

Of course, it’s not only a new costume for Barry that’s got us excited about season 5. Far from it, in fact. Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard about everything from the introduction of a younger version of the Rogues to a premiere that’s apparently the best one since the pilot. Not to mention it’ll also be pretty interesting watching how Barry and especially Iris deal with the Nora situation.

Suffice it to say, there’s much to look forward to when The Flash season 5 races onto The CW on Tuesday, October 9th and as soon as we’ve got another photo of Barry’s new threads, we’ll be sure to let you know.
