Grant Gustin Reveals His Favorite Villain From The Flash

The Flash has brought many of the Scarlet Speedster's greatest enemies from the pages of DC comics to the screen over its past 4 seasons. A few of them have stood out as fan favorites, including Reverse-Flash, Gorilla Grodd and Heatwave. But who is Barry Allen himself Grant Gustin's favorite of the Flash's rogues gallery?

The actor solved this mystery when asked the question by a fan at his panel at this weekend’s ACE Comic-Con in Seattle. The first name that came to mind for him will be one that no doubt most viewers would go for as well: Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold.

“He’s not a villain anymore, but who just popped into my head was Wentworth’s Captain Cold. He’s like a frenemy.”

Snart was a frequent foe on the first two seasons of The Flash but he soon found redemption on Legends of Tomorrow, eventually sacrificing himself in that show’s season 1 finale. That wasn’t the end for Miller in the Arrowverse, however, as time travel’s brought the character back a few times and the recent season introduced his doppelgänger from another Earth, Leo Snart AKA Citizen Cold.

Cold isn’t the only rogue that jumped out at Gustin when he was asked this question at ACE Comic-Con, though. He also put forward a couple of other names, too. Specifically, Mark Mardon’s Weather Wizard, last seen in season 2, and Mark Hamill’s Trickster. Presumably due to the actor being tied up with the Star Wars franchise, the latter hasn’t been seen since season 3, but Gustin would love to see both of them back in action for season 5.

“I was just thinking of today because I had a feeling ‘who’s your favorite Rogue’ was going to be a thing and I was just like wracking my brain I hadn’t thought in a while. I love Weather Wizard, Liam McIntyre’s Weather Wizard, he’d be fun to have back. We haven’t had him enough and then Mark Hamill as Trickster.”

We’ll have to see if Grant Gustin gets his wish when The Flash returns to The CW on October 9th.
