It’s been nearly a year since the American remake of Black Mirror was first teased, and since then Charlie Brooker and his team have officially come aboard to craft another season of depraved technological warnings.

Production on the twelve episode season is currently underway in the US, as part of an exclusive deal with Netflix. This almost certainly guarantees that the show won’t be the same as the first two seasons – and Christmas special – which focus their efforts on a British lifestyle. Those episodes attracted an array of talent, and by the looks of this latest news, the show intends to maintain that trend across the pond, as Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis are both attached to star in one upcoming episode, according to The Wrap.

Mbatha-Raw is clocking up plenty of credits at the moment, starring alongside Will Smith in Concussion, Matthew McConaughey in Free State of Jones and of course, there’s those persistent rumors that she’s in line for Star Wars: Episode VIII. As for Davis, she’s off a small role in The Martian, and is currently installed on AMC’s Catch and Halt Fire.

Both would make excellent additions to the Black Mirror brand, which will no doubt stuff its dozen stories with a ton of A-list talent. The episode in question is currently untitled and the powers-that-be are keeping the plot details under wraps. Owen Harris, who directed this year’s Nicholas Hoult music comedy Kill Your Friends and Black Mirror episode “Be Right Back,” will helm the episode.

Tell us, what types of encounters would you like to see in this upcoming season?
