Following on from the reveal of the first look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, two new images have surfaced which unveil Colman’s on-screen sister Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, alongside Ben Daniels as Margaret’s husband, Lord Snowden. The parts were played by Vanessa Kirby and Matthew Goode, respectively, in previous seasons.

Both actors look the part here as the middle-aged versions of these royals. In particular, social media is currently going crazy for Carter’s Margaret, who’s oozing class while she stares disdainfully at her cigarette. The Crown‘s Twitter account captioned the image “Hope.” As for Daniels’ Snowden, the pic of the photographer was captioned “Hurt.”

In regards to the other major players, Tobias Menzies as the new Prince Phillip – the role previously played by Matt Smith in seasons 1 and 2 – is the only one left to be unveiled. We’d expect that to arrive on Twitter tomorrow. For now, though, check out the promo pics that’ve surfaced so far in the gallery down below:

From what we understand, production on season 3 of the show just started this month, which Carter herself revealed back in June. It’ll also mark the planned halfway point for The Crown, as the renewed cast is expected to last for this season and the next before the series moves on to the Queen’s autumn years, meaning a recast will be necessitated once again. Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos said back in 2016 that the plan was for the show to stretch six decades across six seasons, and we still believe that to be the case.

The Crown season 3 is expected to hit the streaming service at some point in 2019, and once we’ve got an exact date for when it’ll premiere, we’ll be sure to let you know.
