We’re still a couple episodes out, but the CW has released nine promotional photos from The Vampire Diaries episode 3-14, Dangerous Liaisons, and they are captivating.
A shot of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola) on the dance floor decked out in their finest formal wear may be just what we’ve been waiting for. After Klaus saved Caroline from her unfortunate run-in with Tyler’s teeth, a plan he initiated himself, audiences marveled over a softer side of Klaus. Will they or won’t they be the next odd couple? Judging by the look on Klaus’ face, it seems like a distinct possibility, but if The Vampire Diaries team has taught us anything, looks can be deceiving.
The only couple that might have a shot at overshadowing this new, possibly romantic entanglement at this ball would be a couple that no longer exists. After last night’s episode, speculation began over whether a possible comeback tour might be on the horizon for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley). This candid photo of the two doesn’t help matters. Check out that intense eye lock!
With all the chaos unfolding in Mystic Falls, it seems a ball is the perfect interlude. But, questions linger. Who will be escorting the fair Elena this evening? And, what are the rest of the gang up to? There’s no sign of Alaric (Matt Davis), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Matt (Zack Roerig), Tyler (Michael Trevino), or the recently resurrected Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in these shots.
