First Look Images From The Flash Season 2, Episode 9: “Running To Stand Still”

The CW has released the first official images from the upcoming midseason finale of The Flash, and there are some very interesting reveals in them. By far the biggest is our first look at Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. In this continuity, he's Iris West's brother and Joe's long lost son, and unlike his comic book counterpart, he appears to be roughly the same age as Barry Allen.

The CW has released the first official images from the upcoming midseason finale of The Flash, and there are some very interesting reveals in them. By far the biggest is our first look at Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. In this continuity, he’s Iris West’s brother and Joe’s long lost son, and unlike his comic book counterpart, he appears to be roughly the same age as Barry Allen.

It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll ultimately suit up as a Speedster of course, but if it does happen, it likely won’t be for another season or two.

Another very cool shot here is Mark Hamill’s (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) return as The Trickster. Seeing as he’s joined by Captain Cold and The Weather Wizard, chances are that this episode is going to see The Rogues assemble for the very first time. That’s something which is long overdue in this series, and laying the groundwork for them to become the big bad of season three would definitely be smart.

Here’s the official synopsis for this episode of The Flash, shedding more light on what we should expect:

When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).

Season two of The Flash has been very impressive so far, and this looks set to be one of the most fan pleasing instalments yet. With no sign or mention of Zoom though, hopefully the show won’t neglect that overarching plot too much.
