Iron Fist TV Series Will Reportedly Feature Shang-Chi

While hardcore Marvel Comics readers will surely recognize the name Shang-Chi, a lot of people may not have heard of the man known as The Master of Kung Fu - but the character has a legion of dedicated fans that have been hoping to see him kick ass in live-action for a very long time, and it looks like that's now going to happen on the solo Iron Fist show.

Fresh off their big Finn Jones as Danny Rand scoop, the MCU Exchange, in partnership with That Hashtag Show, have revealed that Shang-Chi will be introduced as a supporting character in Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist series. They don’t provide any other details (to be fair, the show is still a while away from production), but do state that Marvel is currently dead set on casting an Asian actor in the role.

Shang-Chi has teamed with a wide variety of superheroes over the years and was recently a member of The Avengers. He also plays a significant role in the Daredevil “Shadowland” comic arc, which many speculate may be adapted for Netflix’s The Defenders series.

Obviously, this has yet to be made official, but the sources definitely deserve the benefit of the doubt after breaking the Iron Fist casting news, so I’d say this is a pretty safe bet.
