The CW has released the first official images from next week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, and we see that the team will clearly have to put their differences aside to pull off an epic escape from a Russian gulag as Vandal Savage looks to create his very own version of Firestorm.

For more details on what to expect from this episode of Legends of Tomorrow, here’s the official synopsis:

After some of the Legends are captured and thrown into a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart (Wentworth Miller) leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades. However, Rip (Arthur Darvill) gives Sara (Caity Lotz) a secret side mission that could prove not only to be a liability, but fatal to the team. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Grainne Godfree.

So far, Legends of Tomorrow is taking a very interesting approach to storytelling, delivering two or three part episodes instead of standalone instalments with an overarching narrative similar to Arrow and The Flash. Of course, that better suits the show in many ways, and the follow-up to this week’s cliffhanger should be a lot of fun.

Will Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell be able to pull off another prison break? We’ll find out when this episode of Legends of Tomorrow airs next Thursday.
