Jessica And Trish Take A Stroll In Latest Pics For The Defenders; Krysten Ritter Game For Possible Second Season

By

Filming on Marvel’s The Defenders is quickly beginning to reach its conclusion, but Krysten Ritter is already entertaining the idea of a possible second season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly (via Screen Rant), the Jessica Jones actress touched base on the intertwining narratives of Netflix’s eight-part event series, along with the inherent benefits of sharing the spotlight with three other heroes. Unlike her acclaimed solo show, Krysten Ritter was able to work under a much more flexible schedule for The Defenders, clocking in for a three-day week as opposed to featuring in practically every scene. Such a forgiving workload even has Ritter feeling optimistic about the future, after the actress revealed that she’s game for a potential second season of The Defenders. It’s more of an off-hand comment than anything else, but it’s still an exciting tease nonetheless.

“With Jessica Jones, I’m in almost every frame of the show. This is spread out so we’re all working about three days a week. We’re all in celebration of that. It’s honestly kind of a dream job. [Laughs] If they want to do a Defenders 2, I’m in.”

When asked about sharing the small-screen with Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage – a character she’s already familiar with thanks to that aforementioned solo series – Krysten Ritter gushed about how their individual styles (and superpowers!) have coalesced for The Defenders.

“It just feels fun. We’re all having a blast. We’re all excited to be working together. It’s fun to see their work, how they work, what their style is, what the integrity of their characters are. We’re all so invested in our characters that everybody just wants everything to be great.”

It’s been a busy few days for Marvel’s The Defenders series. Amid the avalanche of striking photos, we learned the identity of Sigourney Weaver’s nemesis (spoilers: her name is Alexandra), along with the unlikely screen chemistry between Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Still no word on an official premiere date, but Marvel is expected to announce something very soon – after Iron Fist’s premiere in March, in all likelihood.
