If you’ve tuned in for each of Smith’s efforts, then you’ll know that not only did most of them embrace the sci-fi nature of both series, but all shared one thing in common: They were chock full of emotion.

That’s right, “the Fat Man” has always prided himself on getting to the core of characters, and each episode of Supergirl and The Flash he’s thus far churned out did just that. As such, it comes as no surprise that future offerings follow suit, as Smith recently Tweeted the following:

“Just finished this week’s episode of @TheCWSupergirl and have to give major props to @MehcadBrooks! You crushed your monologue scene, sir! Such a beautiful performance! Now I wanna do a Guardian-centric ep next season! @ericcarrasco! I have an idea for a wicked story… #Blam.”

If you’ll recall, this week’s episode of Supergirl, “The Fanatical,” saw James Olsen being blackmailed into publicly revealing himself as Guardian. And though the unveiling didn’t happen, he vowed that he’ll come into the light once he feels ready.

While it remains to be seen if such a pivotal event will occur in the handful of episodes the current season has left, it’s entirely possible that Smith be able to explore this subplot in season 4. Hey, you have to admit something like this is right up his alley.

Supergirl airs on Monday nights on The CW, with an encore presentation of “The Fanatical” scheduled for this Wednesday night.
