Last night’s episode of The Flash revealed Savitar’s true identity. Now, with just three instalments left, The CW has released a new batch of official images from the next outing, but the self-proclaimed Speed God is nowhere to be seen. Instead, the focus is mostly on the villainous Killer Frost.

Interestingly, she’s not looking quite so evil here and almost appears to be working alongside Team Flash. Is that because she’s realized that teaming up with the future Barry Allen is a mistake, or because Savitar has sent her there for nefarious reasons? Unfortunately, we’re stuck having to wait and see.

For more on what to expect from this episode of The Flash – titled “Cause and Effect” – here’s the official description:

Barry (Grant Gustin) takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) continues to push Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek) to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) returns with an interesting proposal.

The reveal that an alternate version of Barry is Savitar has left us with a ton of questions, but more is expected to be revealed next week. The villain is presumably a time remnant created by the Scarlet Speedster, but it’s probably best left to the show itself to explain all this complicated time travel nonsense.

Season 3 of The Flash has taken us to some very unexpected places so far, but Barry being Savitar definitely came as a surprise. These images don’t seem to address that in any way, unfortunately, but we do see the team working on a way to trap him in the Speed Force. And, should they perfect that in time, Iris West may yet survive.
