We’ve been anticipating the debut of Ray Donovan actor Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex for quite a while now, and on next week’s installment of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, DC Comics’ Western antihero will finally make his presence felt when the team travel back to the Old West in search of a place to hide out.

In the comics, Hex is a former Civil War soldier turned mercenary with a hideously scarred face, who has become something of a cult favorite over the years. He was previously played by Josh Brolin in a disastrous 2010 movie, so Schaech will be looking to put his own stamp on the role, and seems to be doing a pretty good job judging from this promo.

Legends of Tomorrow returns with “The Magnificent Eight” next Thursday, and you can find out a little more about the plot of the episode from the official synopsis below.

When the team needs a place to hide out, Rip (Arthur Darvill) sets a course for the Old West. Upon arrival, they start a fight with a gang of outlaws, putting the small town in jeopardy. Luckily, an old friend of Rip’s, Jonah Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech), steps in to save them.
