Manchester Black Could Be Coming To Supergirl Season 4

The CW's Supergirl has always borrowed liberally from Kara Danvers' cousin's rogues gallery, with the likes of Parasite, Livewire, Toyman and even General Zod (in a cameo) appearing in the show's past three seasons. Now, the next run looks to be no different, as a new casting call heavily suggests that the Girl of Steel will be facing another major Superman villain in season 4.

That Hashtag Show has got hold of some casting breakdowns for three new characters set to join Supergirl. One’s for an individual named Ben, who appears to be a crooked businessman, while another’s for Colonel Haley, a female military personnel who sounds like she could be signing up for the DEO. The third, though, goes by the name Chester Green and is described as British, charming and always able to come out of a fight on top.

Here’s the breakdown THS shared:

“Season 4 is looking to add a British actor of any ethnicity in his 20s-30s in the role of Chester Green, who could bring a sword to a gun fight and yet end up victorious. He has a dark background that has now put a heavy burden on his shoulders. In missions, however, his charm is so strong that it ends up helping him avoid the brutality of the situation.”

Of course, it’s common for casting calls to use fake names to hide the real identity of the character, but in this case, the pseudonym might tell us all we need to know. All you need to do is add a few letters onto the first name and swap the surname for another color and you have Manchester Black. As in the description, the comics character is British and often wins his battles – thanks to his incredible telepathic powers. He once even managed to best Supes by giving him the equivalent of a stroke.

If treated right, Manchester Black could be a fantastic big bad for Supergirl season 4 and a worthy follow-up to season 3’s Reign. Speaking of which, our heroine is still fighting the Worldkiller ever Monday on The CW, so be sure to tune in.
