Firefly and Homeland alum Morena Baccarin is no stranger to the DC Universe. She’s voiced several characters in animation over the years, including Black Canary, Talia al Ghul and Wonder Woman adversary, Cheetah, and will now lend her voice talents to The Flash, as well.

According to TV Line, Baccarin will voice Gideon, the A.I. assistant of S.T.A.R. Labs’ Dr. Harrison Wells, who is played by Tom Cavanagh. Her casting comes at an interesting time, too, as she’ll soon make her debut in a different corner of the DC television universe.

Back in October, Baccarin secured a recurring role on Gotham, where she’ll play Dr. Leslie Thompkins, a practitioner at Arkham Asylum who has deep ties to Thomas and Martha Wayne. She also strikes up a relationship with Jim Gordon.

Baccarin’s casting may have initially sparked some hope that Gotham somehow shares the same cinematic universe as both Arrow and The Flash, but given that she’s playing two completely different roles only cements the fact that no such connections exist. In any case, the actress should be a great addition to the cast of The Flash, even if she’s never actually seen on camera.

Tell us, are you happy to hear that Baccarin will be voicing Gideon on The Flash? Or would you rather see this fan-favorite actress show her face on screen? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Flash airs on The CW on Wednesdays at 8 pm.
