This Sunday, AMC’s The Walking Dead will return with “The Key,” the 12th episode of the eighth season, which will see Negan and the Saviors with their backs against the wall. And to get fans excited, the network has now released a new batch of photos that tease us with what’s to come.

No real spoilers here, of course, but if you’re wanting to go into Sunday’s installment with a relatively blank slate, we’d advise against flipping through the gallery below. After all, there’s something to be said about settling in for the latest rendition of The Walking Dead without knowing what’s around the corner, given that this is one of the most frequently spoiled shows currently on the air.

Last chance to turn back…

Still with us? You’ll notice that “The Key” is shaping up to be a pretty action-packed episode, as we see Negan preparing for war by dipping Lucille in what appears to be some walker gore, while Rick is pictured at the graves of Glenn and Abraham, perhaps looking for some new motivation to help him in his ongoing fight against the Saviors.

All in all, it’s looking like another great outing for the show and you’ll want to be sure to tune in when The Walking Dead season 8 continues with “The Key” this Sunday, March 18th.

Looking further ahead, it seems the Powers That Be over at AMC are already making headway on the show’s ninth season, too, which could prove to be a crucial one, as TWD‘s current ratings paint a dire picture for the undead juggernaut. That’s not to say it’s in danger of getting cancelled, but it’s certainly seen better days and we can only hope that things pick up as we barrel towards the end of the season.
