New Photos And Synopsis Tease An Exciting Return For The Walking Dead

AMC's The Walking Dead, while still better than most of what's on television at the moment, is far, far away from its heyday. True, the show has had more than its fair share of ups and downs throughout the years, but its uneven seventh season hasn't exactly been winning over fans. Thankfully, there's still time to turn it around and the network is looking to do just that with this next batch of episodes - which are said to be riveting.

Picking back up on February 12th, season 7B or 7.5, as it’s being called, is teeing up an “all-out” war between Rick’s group and Negan, and things look like they’re about to get real exciting. It’s not a moment too soon, either, as the past few outings of the show (save for maybe the midseason finale) were a bit of a bore, dragging on with unnecessary subplots and not giving us enough of what we wanted.

To help drum up the hype for what’s sure to be an epic showdown, AMC has now released the title, synopsis and several new photos from the first episode back. Dubbed “The Rock in the Road,” the summary is quite frankly, as short as can be, with it simply telling us that “Rick is introduced to a new community.” We’ve got no idea which community that may be, but the comics do provide a few clues for those who’ve read them. No spoilers here!

As for the photos (which we’ve compiled into the video above), there’s nothing terribly revealing included, but most of the main characters get a chance to feature and honestly, it’s good to see everyone again. We’ve been without The Walking Dead for well over a month now and even despite the problems we’ve had with the season so far, we’re itching for more. Especially now that we know it’s about to pick up in a big way.

The Walking Dead will be on our screens once again, ready to ramp up the action and excitement, on February 12th. The only question that remains now is: will you be tuning in, or have you given up on the show already? Sound off in the usual place and do let us know.
