New Supergirl Trailer Offers A Look At Superman

It’s certainly no secret that The CW has been strongly hyping the return of Supergirl over the past few months while the rest of us anxiously await for its second season to commence. In the midst of various promo images having been released, we have been granted some trailers here and there, but they didn’t really contain footage from anything other than the first season or something shot specifically for promotional purposes.

Fortunately, that’s changed as we now have less than three weeks to go until the season 2 premiere. Not only have we been offered our first look at new footage in the promo above, but we also get to see Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman take to the sky as Big Blue continues his family’s proud tradition of rescuing malfunctioning air or spacecraft.

While it would be cool to see a villain such as Metallo wreaking havoc, this is a case of not having to show much in order to hook viewers. I guarantee that seeing the first live action team-up of Supergirl and Superman – as well as the latter’s debut in the “Arrowverse” – is enough to make me tune in. It’s doubtful that I’m the only person who will watch anything involving the Man of Steel at least once. Needless to say, The CW really knows how to tease us with just the right amount of footage.

To further whet your appetite, be sure to check out the synopsis below:

In Season One, Supergirl soared fighting crime and battling various villains, chief among them two Kryptonians who were intent on destroying earth, but she has yet to find that same empowerment as Kara Danvers. Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.

Supergirl returns for its second season on Monday, October 10 on The CW.
