Oliver Queen Won’t Fail His City In New Poster For Arrow Season 5

Heading into its fifth season, Arrow faces a big challenge. That will namely be how to keep a devoted fanbase who have somewhat soured on The CW series over the past couple of years. Ra's al Ghul failed to live up to Deathstroke and Damien Darhk was a crushing disappointment, while a large focus on romance and boring flashbacks have also hurt the show.

Now, with this year’s flashbacks (set in Russia) set to finally take us up to the point that Oliver Queen returned to Star City as a vigilante and a renewed focus on superheroes thanks to the addition of characters like Artemis, Mister Terrific and Wild Dog, it seems like Arrow‘s back to basics approach could really work out for it.

This new poster, which found its way online today, is certainly an improvement on past efforts, and as you can see, it depicts Green Arrow watching over his home as he prepares to fight for both his city and legacy. The latter is particularly interesting as it almost sounds like he’s thinking of giving up his vigilante ways, something which could very well explain why he’s recruiting and mentoring a brand new team.

Time will tell on that front, but expect to see much more from Arrow before it returns to The CW on October 5th.
