Rick And Maggie Head To Hilltop In New Walking Dead Image

To say that season 7 of The Walking Dead has been uneven so far would be a massive understatement. After a shocking premiere that saw Negan brutally murder Glenn and Abraham, the show quickly went downhill. Subplots stretched on for far too long, uninteresting characters were given way too much screentime, extended episodes wasted their extra minutes and quite frankly, nothing that exciting seemed to be happening. Sure, the first half of the season did have its moments here and there, but overall, it's certainly been a bit of a slog so far.

Thankfully, the last episode before the series went on hiatus, “Hearts Still Beating,” showed some promise. Delivering one of the stronger installments of season 7, it hinted at exciting things to come when The Walking Dead returns, with our survivors looking to join up with some of the other communities in order to take down Negan and the Saviors. One of those communities will be Hilltop, and in this new photo which you can check out below, Rick, Maggie and a few others meet with that community’s leader, Gregory.

We don’t know exactly what’s going on here, but we presume they’re trying to convince him to join them in their fight and from the looks of it, good ol’ Greg seems a bit hesitant. Something tells us that he’ll eventually come around, though.

With the promise of more levity in this next batch of episodes, and an all-out war brewing between Rick and co. and the Saviors, things should definitely improve once The Walking Dead returns. That being said, fans expecting all of the characters to make it out alive might be disappointed, as at least one more person will meet their maker. That much is clear from a new set of promotional posters which were released on the show’s Facebook page.

Seen in the gallery below, most of them are quite cryptic, but a few of them allude to death and given that this is The Walking Dead we’re talking about, you can be sure that it won’t be all sunshine and rainbows as the gang fights to take out Negan and the Saviors.

The Walking Dead will be back on our screens on February 12th at 9pm. Tell us, will you be tuning in, or has the show lost you already? Sound off in the usual place and let us know.
