Regardless of whether you sided with the New England Patriots or are still hoarse from celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles and their historic win, we have some exciting news to jolt you out of your Super Bowl LII hangover: AMC has dropped a brand new promo for The Walking Dead season 8, episode 9, which will be with us on February 25th.
For those who don’t know, the midseason premiere will release as “Honor,” with the official synopsis teasing an 82-minute ride involving “new difficulties” and “hard decisions.” And now, as we quickly approach the show’s return, the trailers are coming in thick and fast. Over the past few days, we’ve seen one promo after another hitting the web and today, we’ve got another one. Unlike the last preview, though, this one shifts the focus to the fight that’s brewing.
It’ll take place between Andrew Lincoln’s Rick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan, of course, and their respective entourages, and as AMC teases with the footage they’re showing off here, it’s going to be absolutely explosive. Not only that, but even if our heroes do come out of this alive, that doesn’t necessarily mean their troubles are over. Far from it, in fact. As Maggie says, “winning just means we get tomorrow. Or maybe one more night. After that, no guarantees.” Cue the chills.
It’s time to finish the fight, folks. Season 8 of The Walking Dead returns to AMC with “Honor” on Sunday, February 25th. It’ll be an extended episode, too, lending viewers the chance to savor Carl’s final moments before Chandler Riggs’ small-screen hero heads for the proverbial exit door.
Or at least, that’s what we assume will happen. Given Robert Kirkman’s recent comments though, now we’re not so sure. I guess we’ll find out in just a few weeks, though.
