Star Wars Rebels Showrunner Reveals His Favorite Moment From The Series

Star Wars Rebels has given fans so many brilliant moments over the past three seasons, with the fourth and final run currently airing on Disney XD. Filoni explained that it means so much to him as it marked the fruition of something he’d been thinking about since The Clone Wars.

“I think that the Malachor episodes where Ahsoka confronts Vader was a big moment for me as a storyteller, because it was something I thought about for a long time and theorizing how it’s going to go is one thing; actually having to make it concrete and put it on film is another, because that’s how it is. I think that we created a great environment for the episode. I think that it really hit emotionally with people.”

As mentioned above, fans love this particular arc, as it acted as a kind of backdoor finale to The Clone Wars, which had been cancelled before it came to an organic end. In Rebels, though, Filoni was able to continue Ahsoka’s story and reveal what happens when she realizes her former Jedi master had turned to the Dark Side.

Though he’s very proud of those episodes, Filoni did go on to promise that he feels he and the rest of the team have also done their best work in the ongoing season 4. The showrunner cites the fact that the production crew are more experienced now and are at the top of their game.

“I do think in some ways that the best work that I’ve been able to create with the team of people here, is yet to come in this season four. You get a crew working season to season and they just all know everything better. The more they do it, the better they get and each season should be better than the last. My hope is that this season will represent the best work we did and bring it to its rightful conclusion.”

To see if Star Wars Rebels does indeed reach a satisfying end, be sure to tune into Disney XD every Monday.
