Stranger Things Season 2 Will Expand The World In A Whole New Direction

The first season of Netflix's superb horror drama series, Stranger Things, wrapped up its main storyline in a (mostly) satisfying way, but a lot of questions relating to some of the major characters and the mysterious "Upside Down" lingered. What exactly happened to Eleven? What's up with Will and that demon slug? Will the denizens of Hawkins ever realize that poor Barb is also missing?

These are things that will no doubt be addressed as the series progresses, but it sounds like fans are in for a major surprise or two right from the off. David Harbour (Sheriff Hopper) has already teased some season 2 plot details that sound pretty intriguing, but in a new interview, the SAG Award winning actor reveals that the first 5 minutes of the script had him very excited about how the world that was established in the first batch of episodes will expand in a whole new direction:

I got the first script of season two, and the first five minutes I was on my feet going, ‘Yes! Yes!’ Because they open up the world in such a new way. And these characters that I feel like are so iconic, and that we love so deeply, get to really go on different arcs and different journeys and explore these little things that we touched on in their personalities and psychologies. And we get to really expand on that… I really do think it’s going to be thrilling. And you can tweet at me that I’m an idiot if it’s not.

We still don’t have any specifics on the plot of Stranger Things season 2 just yet, but we do know that it will be set a full year after the events of the first and feature several new cast members. Not only that, but fan-favorite Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) will also be back from the void. All things considered, it’s shaping up to be another thrilling outing for one of Netflix’s best series.
