Superman Arrives In New Promo For Monday’s Episode of Supergirl

Superman made a very brief appearance in the pilot episode of Supergirl, greeting Kara when she arrived on Earth and dropping her off at the Danvers. His face was never shown, but there were numerous references to the Man of Steel throughout both that first instalment and the second. Superman made a very brief appearance in the pilot episode of Supergirl, greeting Kara when she arrived on Earth and dropping her off at the Danvers. His face was never shown, but there were numerous references to the Man of Steel throughout both that first instalment and the second. However, the above promo confirms that the hero will be making a physical appearance this Monday.

As you can tell from the footage though, it will once again only be from the shoulders down, and as something of a blur, as a wounded Supergirl watches him arrive to make the save (do we really need him to show up every time she’s in trouble?).

Regardless, here’s the synopsis of the episode – titled “Fight of Flight” – courtesy of CBS:

Supergirl’s powers are tested when Reactron, one of Superman’s formidable enemies, arrives in National City and targets the young hero. Also, Cat plans to run an exposé on Supergirl, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Nov. 9.

While it makes some sense that Superman would come and save the inexperienced Supergirl, the series really needs to find a way to take him off the board so he’s not continuously used as a plot device in future. If that’s not going to happen, then he should make an actual appearance instead of all these endless teases.

We’ll have to wait and see how things eventually pan out with the character, but stay tuned for more on Supergirl.
