The CW has released twenty official images from next week’s season two finale of The Flash, and they show more of Barry Allen’s race with Zoom, while also revealing that all of his friends and loved ones will be spectators for what is more than likely going to be the final confrontation between the two speedsters.

In addition to the images, the network has also released a mostly unrevealing synopsis for the finale – titled “The Race Of His Life” – which you can find below.

After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) reveals his true plan, Barry (Grant Gustin) vows to do whatever it takes to stop him. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.

What that “true plan” is going to be remains to be seen, but the mysterious looking device seen in the promo for this episode could be what ends up creating that horrifying vision Cisco had of Earth-2 being torn in half. Of course, why exactly Zoom would want to destroy that world is one of many unanswered questions as we head into The Flash finale.

Regardless, it’s now apparent looking at these images that Zoom forces Barry to face him by using Joe West as leverage, so we’ll have to wait and see how the Fastest Man Alive goes about outsmarting this particular villain.

Even more intriguing than that though is whether or not The Flash finale will reveal that Wally and Jesse have powers, or if that’s something that’s being saved for next year. I guess we’ll have to tune in next Tuesday to find out.
