After a short hiatus, AMC’s ever-popular (even if it’s not the ratings monster it once was) zombie survival drama, The Walking Dead, will return for its highly anticipated midseason premiere this weekend.
The first episode back is titled “Rock in the Road,” and we know it will focus on Rick and his crew attempting to recruit some of the other communities that survive under Negan’s thumb to their new cause: operation eliminate the Saviors. Though fans of the source material might have a pretty good idea of the major plot points that occur after this, casual viewers had no idea what to expect… until now.
Titles and synopses for episodes 10-13 have been revealed today and while certain things like specific character names are omitted, they do provide us with some intriguing plot details.
Episode 7.10 – New Best Friends
While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across.
Episode 7.11 – Hostiles and Calamities
An Alexandrian discovers they must navigate the mysterious, confusing and terrifying world within the Saviors’ compound.
Episode 7.12 – Say Yes
The group scavenges for supplies; back in Alexandria, someone must make a morally challenging decision.
Episode 7.13 – Bury Me Here
Things do not go as planned when a group of Kingdommers delivers goods to the Saviors during a routine supply drop-off.
Again, some points are left deliberately vague, but we can hazard a guess or two based on what we already know. The group that Rick comes across in “New Best Friends” is most likely the Oceanside community, who Tara first encountered a few episodes back. In the next installment, the Alexandrian mentioned is almost certainly Eugene, since Negan took him back to the Saviors’ compound in the midseason finale.
The final two descriptions really don’t give us a whole lot to go on, but “Bury Me Here” is definitely a very ominous title – perhaps we’ll say goodbye to another main character at some point during this hour? Time will tell.
The Walking Dead will return and bring with it an “all-out war” this Sunday, February 12th.
