Tom Cavanagh’s Role In The Flash Season 2 Revealed

We’ve known for a while that Tom Cavanagh would be back for the second season of the CW’s The Flash, but since his character, Reverse-Flash/Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne, was killed/erased from existence (this stuff gets confusing doesn’t it?) in the season 1 finale, fans have been wondering who exactly he’d be returning as.

The most popular theory has always been that since Thawne was only posing as Doctor Wells, that Cavanagh would be playing the real version of that character, and that would seem to have been confirmed by the show’s executive producer Gabrielle Stanton.

Well, kind of. In a recent interview, Stanton said the following:

“Harrison Wells will be back, but he’s going to be a very different Harrison Wells than we’ve seen before, We’ve got other worlds. We’ve got other timelines. All I’m going to say is he’s from one of those places.”

Can we expect this version of Wells to hail from Earth 2, perhaps? And does this mean that we’ve seen the last of Reverse-Flash? Hopefully we’ll get some answers when The Flash returns to The CW for its second season on October 6th. Until then, feel free to speculate in the comments section below.
