It Is Happening Again In New Twin Peaks Season 3 Promo

We're now just 10 days away from the highly anticipated third season of David Lynch's bizarrely brilliant Twin Peaks, which last graced our TV screens over 20 years ago. So far, most of the teasers have been very vague, focusing on the atmospheric score and glimpses of of the titular town, but Showtime recently debuted some actual footage from the show, and now they've given us even more with this latest trailer.

Just like with the last promo, here we’re reintroduced to a handful of returning characters. There’s lovable dimwit Deputy Andy (Harry Goaz), chatterbox secretary Lucy Moran (Kimmy Robertson), and waitress Shelly Johnson (Mädchen Amick) surrounded by some new friends. Towards the end we also see David Lynch as Gordon Cole, and the late Miguel Ferrer, who will reprise the role of insufferable smart-ass Agent Rosenfield.

Finally, there’s a haunting shot of Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle Maclachlan) behind the wheel. Will this be the same Cooper that was trapped in the Black Lodge in the season 2 finale, or could it actually be his evil mirror-loafing doppelganger? If it is the real Cooper, does that mean BOB is still loose in the world wearing Dale’s face? We’d like to think these questions and more will be answered when the show returns in just over a week, but this being Twin Peaks, they probably won’t.

Showtime’s revival begins with a two-part premiere on Sunday, May 21st at 9 p.m. ET/PT on air and on demand. Furthermore, those who subscribe to the network’s premium service will gain access to the third and fourth episodes immediately after the broadcast. So, if you count yourself a big fan of the series, you may want to look into a subscription.
