Finally! As you can see in the above gallery, The CW has released the first official images of Zoom, the main villain of season two of The Flash.

There’s been a lot of talk about how this villainous Speedster would differ to Reverse-Flash, and it’s now easy to see why he was initially described as a “speed demon.” His secret identity is clearly going to be a focal point of The Flash this year, and from the stills above, he looks like a very intimidating and frightening new rival for Barry Allen.

Here’s the synopsis for the episode – titled “Enter Zoom” – which offers up more details about how the villain is going to factor into this instalment of The Flash:

After recent events, Barry (Grant Gustin) decides it’s time to confront Zoom and comes up with a dangerous plan. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) sides with Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) and deems it too dangerous for Barry to engage with the speed demon. However, Iris (Candice Patton) shows her support and brings forth a surprising ally. We see what Earth-2 Harrison Wells’ (Tom Cavanagh) life was like before coming through the breech.

So far, we’ve only seen a blurry version of Zoom, and speculation is already running rampant in regards to who is beneath the mask. Some fans believe it’s the Earth-2 version of Henry Allen; could that somehow explain the Earth-1 version’s surprisingly sudden departure in The Flash‘s season premiere? We’ll have to wait and see, but color us intrigued for now.
