Long Delayed Saigon Debut Due In 2011

After being one of the most hyped up and coming rappers of the mid 2000's and experiencing numerous delays and issues with former label, Atlantic Records, Saigon's debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told, will finally be releasing in February of 2011 on Suburban Noize Records. The album, originally slated to be released on Atlantic in 2005, still features production by Just Blaze, although no further information has surfaced on how much (if any) of the album has been changed since it was originally made five years ago.

After being one of the most hyped up and coming rappers of the mid 2000’s and experiencing numerous delays and issues with former label, Atlantic Records, Saigon’s debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told, will finally be releasing in February of 2011 on Suburban Noize Records. The album, originally slated to be released on Atlantic in 2005, still features production by Just Blaze, although no further information has surfaced on how much (if any) of the album has been changed since it was originally made five years ago.

The surprising news was announced on Saigon’s Facebook page as well as a brief mention in a recent HiphopDX interview with frequent collaborator, Statik Selektah.

In the meantime, he plans to release a new EP next week, tentatively titled The Yardfather’s Prologue. This will be only the fourth release (mixtape, EP or street album) in as many years for the once prolific New York rapper, who has been relatively quiet since the height of his buzz in 2002-2006. Since then, he has appeared as himself in the second season of HBO’s Entourage (ironically also as a struggling rapper looking for a big break).
