Could this January get any more exciting for much desired Spanish actor Javier Bardem? The answer is most certainly yes. Along with his new born son, Oscar nomination and the opportunity to feature as the prominent star of a big new franchise: The Dark Tower, he has now been approached by another massive franchise. Deadline is reporting that Bardem has been offered an unspecified part in the next Bond film.

The character details are deliberately under wraps but it could be highly possible that Bardem will fill the shoes of the film’s villain, he did play the ultimate villain in No Country for Old Men and a Bond villain is something that would suit that laconic, quietly sinister character Bardem so wonderfully possesses.

Bond 23 will debut in November 2012, with Daniel Craig back as James Bond with Sam Mendes directing.
