Sendhil Ramamurthy, longtime actor of the dearly departed NBC drama Heroes, has found a new temp job on The Office.

Ramamurthy played Mohinder Suresh on Heroes for nearly five years before the show was cancelled. Since the show went off the air in 2010, Ramamurthy has been working on USA’s hit show Covert Affairs.

His role on The Office will be sweeping Kelly (Mindy Kaling) off her feet as an Indian doctor causing quite a commotion in the love department. Former on-screen flame of Kaling, B.J. Novak, explains:

“We go through a heart-wrenching break-up,” Novak shared with TV Guide. “Ryan and Kelly end up becoming bitter enemies in the office when she falls in love with an Indian doctor. He’s very handsome and a much, much better match for Kelly than Ryan is.”

The episodes in question will be airing later in the season and will be a nice change of pace for the show, which has kept up the Ryan-Kelly romance plotline for far too long.
