Last year it was announced that Sydney would follow in the footsteps of Paris and New York and make an anthology in the vein Paris, je t’aime and New York, I Love You. THR have now announced that the project that it will in-fact get underway this year and it will be titled Sydney Unplugged.

New York and Paris were lucky enough to get some fantastic directors for their films and Sydney has followed suit. The film will consist of 12 short films directed by the following talented individuals: David Michôd (Animal Kingdom), Alex Proyas, Russell Crowe, Anthony LaPaglia, Kieran Darcy-Smith (Wish You Were Here), Liev Schreiber (Everything is Illuminated), Toni Collette, Ray Lawrence (Lantana), Rachel Ward (Beautiful Kate), John Polson (Hide and Seek), Ivan Sen (Toomelah), and John Curran (The Painted Veil).

Sydney Unplugged will begin production in the second half of 2012 and though there is no casting news as of yet, it would be foolish to expect anything less than an A-list line up.
