MTV recently procured four new unscripted shows to add to their existing repertoire: The Heights (New York’s take on the hills), Epic Fail(a show where viewers submit via twitter, email, and text embarrassing vignettes of their lives which are then re-enacted with a panel), Totally Clueless(A contemporary, comedic version of Candid Camera), and This Is How I Made It(Celebrities share their secrets for success). MTV still hasn’t disclosed when we should expect these shows to premiere but Ido ‘t thin, the wait will be too long.

If I had to pick a favorite, I would say that This Is How I Made Itis easily the most interesting: It has the potential to shed some light on the celebrities we so unabashedly revere.

Totally Clueless ups the ante by offering up cash to those who discover they are on TV, but we all know this is probably just another Ashton Kutcher-y take on PUNK’D, sans B and C celebrities.

Epic Failis the odd one of the bunch, and I am not sure how it will pan out. The addition of audience participation is an interesting component and will likely be the cornerstone of its continued success.

The Heights however, is just a result of washed-up laziness. I already know that it will be populated with drug-addicted, promiscuous models who have no perception of reality, but that is exactly why everyone will watch it. MTV is on top because it knows how to exploit its audience.

What do you guys think? Will you watch these show? Sound off in the comments below!
