First Look At Karl Urban As Judge Dredd

The first image of Karl Urban starring as comic book character Judge Dredd has surfaced. Apparently taking its look and tone from the 2000 AD comics, this could prove to be a more gritty and down in the dirt version of the famous comic character.

Urban to me is a really interesting actor and I think that trying to brand himself as an action star is good career path for him to follow. His performances in RED and Star Trek certainly proves he has the action chops to be the action star for this generation.

Titled Dredd, it will be directed by Pete Travis and more importantly scripted by Alex Garland of 28 Days Later fame, who is a great screenwriter. It is currently shooting in South Africa and will hopefully remove every memory of the terrible 90’s film starring Sylvester Stallone.
