First Poster For Oliver Stone’s Savages

One of 2012's most anticipated film is Savages, the new movie from acclaimed director Oliver Stone. The marketing campaign has been quiet up until now but today, we have the first poster. It features stars Taylor Kitsch, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Blake Lively and Aaron Johnson. That's quite the cast and from the poster alone, I'm already excited for Stone's upcoming gritty thriller.

One of 2012’s most anticipated film is Savages, the new movie from acclaimed director Oliver Stone. The marketing campaign has been quiet up until now but today, we have the first poster. It features stars Taylor KitschBenicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Blake Lively and Aaron Johnson (in the mask, or that’s what we’re guessing at least). That’s quite the cast and from the poster alone, I’m already excited for Stone’s upcoming gritty thriller.

Based on the best-selling crime novel by Don Winslow, the film sees Lively playing the friend of two Laguna Beach drug dealers (Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch). When things in the drug trade get heated, she’s kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel who wants to move in on the Laguna Beach dealers’ turf.

Opening on July 6th, Savages is hitting theatres just days after The Amazing Spider-Man. For Universal to put the film right after Sony’s mega blockbuster, they must have a lot of faith in it. Savages isn’t a sequel or a franchise film so the fact that Universal thinks that it can stand up to Spidy signals to me that they have a very good film on their hands.

Plus, despite John Carter, I’m on the Taylor Kitsch train and I’m excited to see what he can do in a film with a solid script.

Also starring in the Savages are Demian Bichir, Uma Thurman, Joel David Moore and Emile Hirsch. Like I said above, quite the cast.

Check out the poster below.
