If you’re a fan of Robert Pattinson, then you’ve probably been waiting for quite some time for Bel Ami. It looks to be quite a departure for the Twilight star and today, we have a new trailer for the film.

Bel Ami is a period film based on a novel of the same name set in late 1800’s London. The plot kind of looks like a Vanity Fair situation, R.Patz plays a penniless soldier that “seduces his way into wealth.” And judging from this trailer, Mr. Pattinson definitely knows how to seduce.

The film has played the festival circuit already and is now heading towards a theatrical release on June 8th. For me, I’m interested in seeing how Pattinson’s non-Twilight career does. He recently starred in Remember Me which earned mediocre reviews and this year he has Bel Ami as well as David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis. Both films should give the Twilight star a chance to flex his acting chops in hopes that the world will start to take him seriously and know him as something more than just “Edward from Twilight.”

As for the rest of the film’s cast, you can look forward to seeing Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, Colm Meaney, Philip Glenister, and Holliday Grainger.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
